TENEA WATSON NELSON, PHD
Founder and CEO
Dr. Tenea Watson Nelson is a leading practitioner of inclusion and diversity. She utilizes her unique lived and professional experiences to champion social change, particularly in STEM. As a Genentech and Gilead scientist, and a decade-long Stanford University Diversity and Inclusion Assistant Dean, Tenea moved forward innovative organizational DEI solutions through knowledge building, process improvement, and behavioral change. Tenea earned her PhD in Toxicology and Environmental Medicine from The University of Rochester. She is from the East Coast and has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for almost two decades. Tenea earned her bachelors degree at 17, and her doctorate degree at 23 years old.
NIKKI R. LEWIS, PHD
Consultant and DEI Evaluation Designer
Recognized as an evaluation and research innovator, Dr. Lewis brings experiences of project development, implementation, and evaluation. Her skills include qualitative and quantitative methods, instrument development, and stakeholder engagement.
Dr. Lewis received her BA in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH), her M.Ed in Education Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University, and her PhD in Educational Psychology, Measurement, and Evaluation from UNC-CH.
GUADALUPE CARRILLO, PHD
Consultant and Facilitator
Dr. Carrillo’s experience includes designing and implementing diversity strategic plans for a renowned academic research institution as DEI Director. She has created diversity programs, facilitated workshops for DEI best practices, and directed summer research programs for outreach and university recruitment.
Dr. Carrillo holds a B.A. in English and Political Science from UC Berkeley and a PhD in English from Stanford University. As a first-generation American and college graduate, Dr. Carrillo recognizes the transformative power of committing to advance equity and opportunity.
LIANNA SAMUEL, PHD
Consultant and Project Manager
Dr. Lianna Samuel is a project/program manager helping companies surpass their diversity and inclusion goals. Lianna believes that successful diversity and inclusion programs produce diverse teams with broader and more impactful insights. As a first generation college graduate and immigrant, Dr. Samuel understands how important it is to foster inclusion and craft training programs that serve all employees. In addition to project management, Lianna's skills include research and data analysis within Fortune 500 companies and startups. Lianna has also managed research programs and hosted workshops supporting undergraduates from underrepresented backgrounds in their pursuit of graduate degrees. Lianna has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Howard University, and a Stanford University MS in Chemical Engineering and PhD in Environmental Engineering.
Language Services Consultant, Program Designer, and Facilitator
Mr. Watson is a bilingual administrator and cultural sensitivity expertise with over thirty six years of experience in public school districts and academia. He possesses an international work history and reputation of cultivating highly conducive and productive learning environments. In addition to his experience as a high school principal within the Washington D.C. public school district, Enrique also reviewed, edited, and translated official documents from English to Spanish for the Superindent. Enrique has also served as a Spanish interpreter and advocate for families during DC Courts hearings. Enrique has an enriched and unique skill set, honed through his various tenures as an educator, principal, assistant principal, Spanish teacher and professor.
